Overview

ZoneLab is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how ZoneLab handles your data.

Data Collection

ZoneLab does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on external servers.

All data you create in ZoneLab (film tests, session data, equipment libraries, settings, and preferences) is stored exclusively on your local device.

Local Data Storage

ZoneLab stores the following data locally on your Mac:

• Film, developer, camera, lens, and grey card libraries
• Zone density readings and calculated ISO values
• Session metadata (dates, notes, lighting conditions)
• Application settings and preferences

This data is stored in a local Core Data database on your device at:

Data You Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Export: Export all session data as CSV files for backup or analysis
• Import: Import previously exported CSV data
• Delete: Clear session data or all data at any time via the Edit menu

File Access

ZoneLab uses macOS sandboxed file access for CSV import/export operations. This means:

• You must explicitly grant permission for each file operation
• ZoneLab can only access files you specifically choose
• No automatic or background file access occurs

USB Device Access

ZoneLab includes experimental support for the Printalyzer UV Densitometer via USB. If you use this feature:

• ZoneLab communicates directly with the connected USB device
• No data is transmitted to external servers
• Device communication occurs only when you initiate readings

Network Activity

ZoneLab does not require an internet connection and does not transmit any data over the network.

The app functions completely offline. No analytics, crash reports, or usage data is collected or transmitted.

Third-Party Services

ZoneLab does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.

TestFlight Beta Testing

If you are using ZoneLab via Apple's TestFlight:

• Apple may collect crash logs and usage analytics as part of the TestFlight program
• This data is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ZoneLab's
• You can opt out of TestFlight analytics in your device settings

Children's Privacy

ZoneLab does not knowingly collect data from children. The app is designed for adult photographers and does not target minors.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made.
